GB News is more trusted by its viewers than either the BBC or Sky News, data released by Ofcom has revealed.
The media watchdog’s news consumption survey found GB News viewers ranked the channel more highly for trustworthiness than viewers of all other British broadcasters scored those networks.
Almost three in four GB News viewers – 74 per cent – consider the channel to be trustworthy.
Sky News registered a trustworthy score of 71 per cent among its audience and the BBC was slightly lower at 66 per cent.
The People’s Channel also scored higher than the BBC on impartiality.
Ofcom’s survey found 63 per cent of GB News viewers consider the channel impartial.
Meanwhile, the BBC’s rating was 10 points lower on 53 per cent.
A vast majority of GB News viewers – 72 per cent – also said GB News presented a broad range of views.

A GB News spokesman said: “These figures prove why GB News is Britain’s undisputed number one news channel.
“Our viewers and listeners trust us to provide them with news, and our bold and fearless journalism is connecting with communities everywhere.”
Responding to Ofcom’s findings earlier this month, GB News host Alex Armstrong sent a direct message to viewers at home.
“It’s all thanks to all of you at home,” Alex said. “We wouldn’t be here without you.”
Miriam Cates added: “We’re only five years into being set up, and this shows that we’re doing our job, we’re showing both sides of the debate and that’s what we’re here for.”
The People’s Channel last month marked a full year as Britain’s number one news channel.
Official audience data released in August found GB News had beaten the BBC News Channel and Sky News in July.
Barb data for July showed GB News secured 81,600 average views (1.44 per cent audience share).
The figure was 11 per cent higher than the BBC News Channel’s 73,500 average views (1.29 per cent audience share).
Meanwhile, Sky News was a distant third on 68,900 (1.21 per cent audience share), trailing 18.4 per cent behind GB News.
Over the twelve-month period from August 2025 to July 2026, GB News averaged around 90,900 views (1.51 per cent share).
The People’s Channel ended the period 9.7 per cent ahead of the BBC News Channel’s 82,400 (1.37 per cent share).
The figure was 25 per cent ahead of Sky News’ 72,300 average (1.21 per cent share).
The ratings win is the latest in a string of successes for Britain’s number one news channel.
GB News was named News Programme Of The Year at the National Reality TV Awards earlier this year.
