The service only took off on April 19 this year with just four flights a week. The airline will fly the route using its Boeing 787 fleet, and tickets are already available to book.

BA will start with five flights a week from March 28, 2027, before ramping up to a daily service between April 19 and June 28.

The airline drops back to five weekly flights over the height of summer, before going daily again from September 6 through to October 30.

BA is the only British airline running nonstop flights on this route, giving travellers direct access to London and onward connections through Heathrow to more than 200 destinations across Europe and the rest of the world.

President and CEO of Explore St. Louis, Brad Dean, said: “British Airways’ decision to increase service just months after the route launched is an important sign of the momentum behind this connection and the opportunity ahead for the St. Louis region.

“International visitors are especially valuable to a destination because they tend to stay longer and spend more. That means this new daily flight has an impact that extends well beyond the airport, supporting our hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers and cultural institutions. Growing this route is about growing the St. Louis economy.”

BA’s Head of Sales North America, Hubert Frach, added: “We’re delighted to be significantly growing our presence in St. Louis for Summer 2027 with daily flights to London Heathrow for more than four months of the season.

“The response to this route has been tremendous since launch only five months ago, and this expansion gives customers even greater choice and flexibility, while strengthening connections from St. Louis to London, Europe and our global network of more than 200 destinations.”

There is lots to do in the city beyond the Route 66 connection. Its famous Gateway Arch stands as an iconic landmark, while Forest Park – one of America’s largest urban parks – provides vast green spaces to explore.
