A man suspected of pushing a woman in front of a bus has been found dead at his home, nine years after the mystery attack.
The banker, known for the ongoing Putney pusher investigation, was discovered deceased in his Chiswick property in west London last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene, where he was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
While his death is being treated as unexpected, it is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “At 19.12hrs on Tuesday, 15 September, officers and the London Ambulance Service attended an address in Chiswick, Hounslow after a man was found unresponsive inside a property.
“Sadly, a 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.
“At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.”

The London Ambulance Service deployed ambulance crew, a paramedic as well as an advanced paramedic and a clinical team manager to the property.
A spokesman added: “We were called at 7.55pm on Tuesday 15 September to reports of an incident.
“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and a clinical team manager.
“Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The suspect, who was a former Army officer, was being investigated by police from an incident back in 2017.

During the incident on May 5 of that year, a jogger pushed a woman in front of an oncoming bus.
Thanks to the bus driver’s heroic quick thinking, 12-tonne bus narrowly missed the woman’s head by mere inches.
No individual has been charged, despite the ongoing investigation rumbling on for almost a decade, during which time police interviewed 50 men and arrested three people.

A year later, the investigation slowed due to a lack of information.
The dead suspect was first arrested after he separated from his wife, with whom he shared one son, and who are believed to have lived not far from Putney Bridge.
After being held on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH), he was arrested again on suspicion of possessing Class A and B drugs.
He went on to be bailed, which was cancelled just last week.
