Many of the groups take funding from tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, whose wife Jodie Evans was spotted protesting outside the UN on Tuesday with the far-left CodePink non-profit she co-founded.

The group is funded by the American businessman, who is himself a resident of Shanghai and has previously thrown his support behind the Chinese Communist Party and its “new world order”.

Activists were heard chanting anti-US military slogans, accusing it of orchestrating “all-out climate and environmental devastation”.

CodePink activists then marched towards OpenAI’s offices in protest against data centres, which the far-left group claims to “drive war” and cause “economic degradation”.

As Mr Xi touched down on Wednesday, supporters of the Chinese premier were seen clashing with anti-CCP protesters outside Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

Police arrived at the scene and shut down the road to disperse the crowds.

American lawmakers have expressed fears that the groups may be “Trojan horses” attempting to undermine the stability of the US during the Chinese President’s visit.

Republican Congressman Jason Smith told Fox News: “The American people need to know that this is not just an organic movement.

“There has to be more transparency across all areas with these kinds of activities.”

Meanwhile, Representative John Moolenaar, chairman of the House Select Committee on China, warned the demonstrations “raises serious concerns” about foreign state actors influencing the American people.

The Congressman also cast suspicions over the protesters “actively speaking out against American interests”.

In Austin, a “spontaneous” anti-Ice protest erupted on Tuesday following the shooting of a Venezuelan man by federal agents.

The demonstrations were organised and promoted by far-left groups including the Democratic Socialists of America, the Freedom Road Socialist Organisation and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, an investigation by Fox News revealed.

The groups have worked closely with nonprofit organisations bankrolled by Mr Singham.

He insists he does not work for the Chinese state, having previously said: “I do not work for, nor take instruction from, nor receive funding from the Propaganda Department or any division of the Chinese government or the Communist Party of China.”

On Thursday, CodePink, the Palestinian Youth Movement and other groups that receive funding from the tech tycoon will launch protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The groups advertised the demonstration on various social media platforms, urging New York residents to “reject war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and the genocidal Zionist project”.

Ms Evans and CodePink will also take part in a lecture titled: “War & Climate: What U.S. Imperialism Demands of Our Climate Justice Movements”.

On Friday, as Mr Jinping jets back to Beijing, the Party for Socialism and Liberation will take to the streets of Austin in yet another anti-Ice demonstration, with the group urging supporters “to be brave and follow the example of Minneapolis earlier this year”.

Mr Trump and the Chinese leader are expected to discuss artificial intelligence, trade and critical minerals during the face-to-face talks.

The three-day visit has started with the Trump administration announcing that the two global powers will not escalate tariffs on each other until at least 2027.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News: “We will extend what we call the ‘Busan Agreement,’ the economic detente between the two countries that was scheduled to end on November 10 – that is going to be extended until January 10.

“There are some deliverables that have not been perfect on the Chinese side, so we also want to see, now that we’ve sat down and told them our expectations.”
