Five other suspects – all UK nationals – have also been bailed in connection to the incident.

Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, Vicki Evans, reiterated this week they were assessing “all possible angles” regarding the ongoing probe.

“The investigation into circumstances surrounding events in Gloucestershire is hugely complex, and our specialist teams are interrogating multiple lines of enquiry,” she said on Thursday.

“As weโ€™ve made clear, weโ€™re looking at all possible angles โ€“ including possible foreign state involvement.

“Iโ€™d like to thank the public for their continued support and patience whilst we work through this investigation.”

Prime Minister Andy Burnham also revealed to GB News there are “strong indications” Iran played a part in a major security incident.
