Reflecting on the windfall, the fortunate player expressed astonishment at his success.
“We just couldn’t believe we had won from putting on a one-off lucky dip line,” he said. “It shows that anyone can be lucky. We are so grateful to have the opportunity to leave a legacy for our children, and we are also planning some holiday and more rounds of golf.”
Abbie Suddick, Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of the National Lottery, congratulated the winner, saying: “What tee-riffic news for our Newcastle winner. We hope he enjoys plenty of holiday adventures, and even more rounds of his favourite hobby.”
The latest triumph adds to Newcastle’s established reputation as a fortunate postcode for lottery success across the nation.
