In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we recall the Bible’s message that many are called, but few are chosen.

“In the Bible in Matthew 22, we hear about a man who invites people to a wedding feast, and it’s a king who comes.

“And he came to see the guests, and he noticed somebody there who wasn’t wearing smart clothes, who did look disheveled. It looked like they hadn’t bothered.

“And he said to him, friend, how did you get in here without a wedding robe? And the man was speechless. The king said to his attendants. Bind him, take him and cast him out.

“Because he has not dressed appropriately, he hasn’t come prepared. The Bible says this, for many are called, but few are chosen. What this passage is trying to get us to understand is that we are all invited to a beautiful banquet with God in heaven.

“But unless we dress appropriately, not physically, but inside, unless we clothe ourselves in white, in cleanliness, in the bridal clothes, in the wedding clothes, then we will look out of place when it comes to heaven.

“And indeed we might find that we are out of place in that moment. So my challenge is, how am I clothing myself in righteousness and cleanliness, in holiness, so that when the banquet is before me, I am accepted and welcomed as an appropriate guest.”
