Seconds later, Ms Filgueiras becomes more panicked as she declared an emergency, and the rate of descent had accelerated to “20,000 feet per minute”, banking at “60 degrees”.
Experts who analysed the clip, which showed the jet at an almost vertical angle, suggested the plane was close to travelling at the speed of sound.
Upon meeting the ground, the aircraft exploded as thick clouds of smoke billowed into the sky.
Ms Filgueiras’s mother, Camila, told the New York Post that her daughter had been working as a commercial pilot for just nine months.
Officials have not yet released the identities of the remaining victims, and are expected to provide further details at a press conference.
