Watch the moment Patrick Christys is attacked by migrants and his GB News crew is forced to leave while covering the migrant crisis in Calais.
Several members of the team were injured, one requiring immediate medical attention, and cars were damaged in the terrifying confrontation.
Patrick was on the French coast to investigate new routes used by small-boat migrants trying to break into Britain.
However, the scenes quickly turned ugly as the presenter and his team were set upon as they attempted to ask charity workers why they were aiding the would-be English Channel crossers.
Patrick’s cameraman was left with “cuts, abrasions, lacerations and a possible concussion” after the assault, requiring him to be quickly bandaged up after escaping the violence.
Another member of the crew was punched in the back of the head by a migrant who reached into one of the team’s cars as they attempted to leave.
Rocks, bottles and other projectiles were also hurled at the cars, leaving them scratched and dented.
The assaults occurred just minutes after Patrick arrived at a clearing where charity workers had set up a canteen for illegal migrants.

Masses of people formed long queues to receive free food from the workers.
“Lots of people here. Lots and lots and lots of people. You can see huge numbers.
“What I’d like to do is just ask some of these charity workers exactly what they think they’re doing,” Patrick said as he made his way through the assembled migrants.
None of the high-vis-vest-clad workers, who were standing and preparing food, wanted to speak and instead shooed Patrick and his team away.

One worker, wearing what looked like a keffiyeh, approached the presenter and ordered him to leave.
Undeterred, Patrick asked the man why he and the others seemed to be facilitating the small-boat crisis blighting Britain.
“Some of the people in Britain are quite worried about things that we’ve had coming across the Channel,” he said.
Patrick listed off some of the most heinous crimes committed by small-boat migrants, including the brutal murder of Rhiannon Whyte and the gang rape of a girl on Brighton beach.

“They might have been in this camp. You might have helped them. How do you feel about that?”
The man wasn’t interested in answering, gesturing for Patrick and his team to leave before a migrant paced over and pushed the camera away.
That moment sparked chaos, with charity workers flooding in to shoo the GB News team away while migrants swarmed in.
Patrick’s attempt to cool the scene failed as a migrant kicked the cameraman to the ground, sending his camera spiralling.

As dozens of migrants closed in, Patrick and his team made for their vehicles to make a speedy getaway.
Projectiles rained down on them, and migrants kicked and punched at the cars as they began to speed down the road.
“Everyone’s in the vehicle. We potentially have a crew member injured,” one of the team said over the radio.
Only after Patrick and his team were safely away from the incident could they assess the damage.
