Now, the Grade II listed building has received approvals to planning and Listed Building applications, subject to some conditions.
Delivering the good news in the group’s newsletter, acting Chair Richard Ring said they are “truly on their way” to reopening in 2027.
He told locals: “I’m delighted to be able to share the news that, subject to a couple of conditions on the Listed Building front, we’ve today received approvals to our planning and Listed Building applications!
“The conditions imposed are minor and won’t hinder progress – though we will obviously respect them – so we can now move on from repair activities into full blown construction and development, in the ways we feel are essential to make the long-needed improvements to The Ivy.
