Union jack dress girl’s crowdfunder set up by far-right fraudster

A prominent far-right ‘activist’ and convicted fraudster has launched a GoFundMe for a young girl who was unable to ‘celebrate her British identity at school’ while wearing a union jack dress:

Voice of Wales, a far-right media outlet, announced the fundraiser on X. The founders, Dan Morgan and Stan Robinson, are both known conspiracy theorists, whose YouTube channel was banned in 2021 for racist comments. Previously, they have covered protests against accommodation for asylum seekers and anti-drag queen rallies.

The group has ties to prominent far-right activists including Tommy Robinson and has close connections with UKIP. The party selected Stan Robinson as their candidate for the 2024 General Election in Llanelli. Unsurprisingly, he came last with a pathetic 1.5% of the votes.

So far, the fundraiser has made £1412.

Convicted fraudster

In 2023, the courts convicted one of the men who set up the GoFundMe, Dan Morgan, of fraud – and gave him a suspended sentence. He was one of 16 people convicted of a large-scale scam which stole millions from people believing they were applying for compensation for mis-sold PPI.

A post from Voice of Wales on X announcing the fundraiser states:

You can always rely on the Great British Public to support our own!

We all know that the far-right are always keen to help people experiencing homelessness, or kids in care.

The GoFundMe clearly states:

We are raising funds so this proud young lady can treat herself to something nice.

The father Stuart Field will be in full receipt of any funds raised.

So which one is it?

Grifters

Who needs a full-time job when you can get on the full-time grift?

What do you want to be when you grow up? I’d like to make my kid wear a union jack dress to cause faux outrage, and have right-wing muppets pay my way.

The right-wing constantly bang on about immigrant benefits scroungers and kicking asylum seekers out of free hotels. Yet, they are the biggest grifters of all.

We see it time and time again with Tommy Robinson.

The online outrage forced the school to apologise. According to the Independent:

Bilton School in Rugby, Warwickshire, said it deeply regretted the distress caused by the incident and was committed to “learning from this experience and ensuring that every student feels recognised and supported when expressing pride in their heritage”.

Whilst they might seem to oppose getting everything for free (if you’re an iLlEgAl), there seems to be a bit of a pattern with right-wing grifters. And it’s nothing short of hypocrisy.
