A Stand Up To Racism counter-demonstration outnumbered protesters in Falkirk on Sunday afternoon outside of the Cladhan hotel, with activists dancing, people dressed in inflatable unicorn costumes, and the crowd chanting “refugees are welcome here”.
The Falkirk group Save Our Future and Save Our Kids Futures, which continues to deny having links with the far-right, previously said it would vet speakers after a “neo-Nazi” addressed the crowd in August, saying: “Keep Britain white”.

However, videos and images posted by counter-demonstrators and shared by SUTR organisers show the same Patriotic Alternative (PA) member, Richard McFarlane, speaking for a second time at the gathering hosted by the group today.
PA has been described as a far-right, fascist, neo-Nazi and white nationalist hate group. At the heart of its ideology is the “white genocide” myth, with the group actively campaigning for the mass deportation of immigrants.
Protesters were also seen holding PA-issued leaflets and a banner was photographed, belonging to McFarlane, which displayed the so-called “Fourteen Words” slogan coined by American neo-Nazi David Lane.
The group’s name itself echoes the primary slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”.
McFarlane was seen placing the barriers and removing them once the protest had concluded.
Once the UK’s largest fascist organisation according to anti-racism charity HOPE not hate, PA has since splintered.
The group was previously involved in anti-migrant protests in Erskine, Renfrewshire and unfurled a “white lives matter” banner at the top of Ben Nevis in 2021.
We previously wrote about how PA and Unity News Network (UNN) – one of the most popular sources of information for the far right in the UK, which is run by a Scot – signed a joint declaration encouraging supporters to support and infiltrate Farage’s party.
Farage told The National in response to questions over the presence of PA at protests outside hotels across the country that Reform UK rejected the group.
McFarlane has produced a series of racist banners and leaflets urging voters to back Reform UK.
