Witnesses of the October attack recalled hearing โ€œscreamsโ€ in the early hours of the morning.

One resident, speaking anonymously, told the Manchester Evening News she heard screams that caused her to rush downstairs and open the front door of her house on Briscoe Lane.

She said: โ€œIt woke me up. I heard shouting and screaming. I went outside and saw all the police.

โ€œThey arrested a man; I couldn’t see what he looked like because it was dark. They dragged him out of a car after he tried to drive into a police van.โ€

Another resident said: โ€œBelieve it or not, I was telling my friend the other day that this is a quiet area. So this came as a bit of a shock.

โ€œI’ve lived here 30 years, and the worst thing we’ve had was a shooting a long time ago. Apart from that, it’s usually quiet.โ€
