GB News counted 72, mostly young men, as they disembarked the Border Security Command vessel and were taken to the nearby migrant processing facility for health and security checks.

More than 80 other illegal immigrants were also spotted on board a so-called taxi boat, a large dinghy thought to have launched from a beach in Belgium earlier on Thursday.

The taxi boat called into a beach near Dunkirk and picked up dozens of other migrants who waded out into the water to clamber on board.

The latest arrivals have taken the total number of migrant crossings so far this year to more than 21,000.

GB News provided information about this latest incident to the Home Office and asked them to provide a statement.

They refused to provide a comment, saying that despite multiple requests, they had not been provided with the footage itself.

They have previously said: โ€œWe have made progress tackling the small boats. Crossings are down significantly, and we have just recorded the lowest number of summer arrivals since 2020.

โ€œJoint efforts with international partners have prevented over 50,000 crossing attempts and seized 1,100 boats and engines since the election.

โ€œBut we must go further. That’s why we are boosting the number of officers on the ground in France and removing the pull factors drawing people here through illegal and dangerous routes.โ€
