Qatar’s government has denied claims by US president Donald Trump and his spokesperson that the US warned it in advance of Israel’s airstrike on the building hosting Palestinian peace negotiators in Doha.
Qatar: Trump is lying
The Trump administration said today that its Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, had informed Qatar of the impending strike before it took place, but a Qatari foreign ministry spokesman responded that the first the government heard about the attack was at the moment the missiles struck.
The Qatari government has condemned Israel’s attack as “cowardly”. The Palestinian delegation has said that they were “lured” to the building by Trump and his representatives to put them in position for the Israeli bombing.
Israel had claimed it had warned the US over its terror attack on Qatar. But then, Trump team said that Israel hadn’t.
Trump himself claimed he “feels badly about the location of the attack”, but clearly not badly enough to stop Israel from doing it when he clearly knew about it beforehand.
